Cleveland Rowing Foundation has been working with the Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative of the Kent State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design to explore the full potential of the site. Rivergate Park site improvements are envisioned to include:
  • Green space connections:
The current site will be enhanced with the addition of trees, grasses and other vegetation which are native to the area and require little maintenance.
  • Ecologically sensitive landscaping:
Any facility renovation and new construction should be designed to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the natural environment by efficiently using energy, water, and other resources; by protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity; and by reducing waste and pollution.
  • Water resources and storm water management:
On-site storm water management practices will be used to reduce large expanses of impervious pavement
