Professional Background:
Kirk Lang has a B.S. in Biology/Chemistry and a M.S. in Biotechnology and currently works at Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry.
Rowing Background:
Kirk began rowing at Mt. Lebanon Senior High School in Pittsburgh, PA as a heavy-weight varsity rower and men’s team captain. Following high school he rowed at Duquesne University for 4 years on the Varsity team. His freshman year, he rowed bow in the Men’s Pair 2- that earned the first Dad Vail Regatta (largest intercollegiate regatta in the U.S.) medal for Duquesne. He also rowed while studying aboard at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland where he attended regatta’s throughout the United Kingdom.
During graduate school, Coach Lang first served as a coach for several area Pittsburgh High schools. His collegiate coaching experience includes 3 years at Duquesne University; 2 years as a Novice/JV coach and 1 year as the Men’s Head coach. He is a former member of Three Rivers Rowing Association (TRRA) and currently holds a Level 1 USRowing certification.
Kirk is currently the Head Coach of the Western Reserve Rowing Association Masters Rowing program.
